Shop Catalog & Sorting
Quantum Competitions provides deep control over how competitions appear across your store catalog, product categories, and search results. You can separate competition entries from regular merchandise and provide specialized sorting suited for time-sensitive draws.
Catalog Sorting Options
Section titled “Catalog Sorting Options”Standard eCommerce sorting (such as Sort by price) is often insufficient for competition sites where participants prioritize time remaining.
Quantum Competitions registers two competition-specific sorting algorithms into WooCommerce:
- Sort competition by ending soonest (
competition_end): Prioritizes competitions whose countdown timer expires earliest. - Sort competition by recently started (
competition_started): Shows newly launched competitions first.
Setting Default Catalog Order
Section titled “Setting Default Catalog Order”To set the default sort order for your competition archive:
- Go to Competitions > Settings.
- Click the Display subtab.
- Locate Default competitions Sorting (
qcw_default_catalog_orderby). - Choose your preferred sorting algorithm:
- Default sorting (custom ordering + name)
- Popularity (sales)
- Sort by most recent
- Sort by price (low to high or high to low)
- Sort competition by ending soonest
- Sort competition by recently started
- Click Save changes.
Archive & Visibility Filters
Section titled “Archive & Visibility Filters”In Competitions > Settings > Display, you can configure exactly where and when competitions appear across your site:
| Option | Setting ID | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Past competitions | qcw_finished_enabled |
When enabled, completed competitions remain visible in archives with their final results. When disabled, closed competitions are hidden from the catalog. |
| Future competitions | qcw_future_enabled |
When enabled, upcoming competitions with a future start date are displayed in the catalog with a countdown to launch. |
| Do not mix on shop page | qcw_dont_mix_shop |
Prevents competitions from appearing on the main WooCommerce shop page (/shop/). Competitions will only appear on your dedicated competition base page. |
| Do not mix on product search | qcw_dont_mix_search |
Excludes competitions from standard WooCommerce site search results. Competitions are only returned when using the dedicated Competition Search widget or block. |
| Do not mix on category pages | qcw_dont_mix_cat |
Hides competitions from standard WooCommerce product category archives. |
| Do not mix on tag pages | qcw_dont_mix_tag |
Hides competitions from standard WooCommerce product tag archives. |
Single Competition Page Settings
Section titled “Single Competition Page Settings”Under Competitions > Settings > Display, you can configure global display defaults for individual competition pages:
- Default ticket quantity (
qcw_default_ticket_quantity): Global fallback quantity pre-selected in the ticket number input field and interactive range slider. Can be overridden on each individual competition product edit page. - Show quantity number input (
qcw_competition_show_quantity_input): Toggles the standard numeric stepper input on the single competition page. - Striped range slider (
qcw_range_slider_striped): Enables a striped, animated styling pattern on the quantity slider. - Use transparent background (
qcw_range_slider_transparent): Renders a translucent slider track that seamlessly blends into custom theme backgrounds.
Admin Products List Isolation
Section titled “Admin Products List Isolation”If you run a high-volume store with hundreds of past competitions alongside standard physical or digital products, your WordPress Products list can quickly become cluttered.
- Enable Hide competitions from WooCommerce admin products list (
qcw_hide_from_products_list). - Competitions will be completely hidden from the standard WP Admin > Products screen.
- Competitions will only be accessible under the dedicated WP Admin > Competitions menu.
Dedicated Draw Results Base Page
Section titled “Dedicated Draw Results Base Page”The plugin supports a dedicated Draw Results archive page:
- Create a WordPress page (e.g. Draw Results).
- Set it in Competitions > Settings > Pages.
- The plugin automatically renders the
[competition_draw_results]shortcode on this page, presenting a clean table of past competitions, winners, and verified winning ticket numbers.
