We’ve released a new, free plugin on the WordPress.org repository: WPGenie Product Subscriptions for WooCommerce.
This lightweight plugin adds a subscription engine to WooCommerce products. With it, you can turn any simple product into a subscription with custom billing plans — each with its own interval, period (day, week, month, year), and price per plan.
On the single product page, you can display these plans on the product page as a dropdown or radio buttons. When a customer subscribes, the plugin creates a subscription record with start date, expiry date, status, customer details, and the original order, all manageable from the admin dashboard. Customer can also view, manage, and manually renew their subscriptions from the “Subscriptions” page in My Account.
The important thing is that there’s no charging cards automatically: it sends customers automatic email reminders before their subscription ends, and renewals are made manually — either by the customer from their account, or from the admin dashboard. This means plugin works with any payment gateway.
There’s also an option to restrict content to subscribers, and option for admin to manually create a new subscription for a customer.
